2. General information on data processing

We process personal data only insofar as this is necessary for operating this website, responding to enquiries, preparing for and conducting events, fulfilling contractual obligations or complying with legal obligations.

Personal data is information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

3. Hosting and server operation

This website is operated on a server provided by STRATO GmbH.

STRATO GmbH
Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7
10249 Berlin
Germany

When our website is accessed, technically necessary data is transmitted between the visitor’s device and the web server.

In particular, the following data may be processed:

  • IP address of the accessing device,
  • date and time of access,
  • page or file accessed,
  • browser type and browser version,
  • operating system of the device,
  • amount of data transferred,
  • HTTP status code,
  • previously visited page (referrer URL), insofar as transmitted.

Processing this data is necessary to make the website technically available, ensure its stability and security and identify technical errors or abusive access.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure, stable and functional operation of our online offering.

Where STRATO processes personal data on our behalf, processing is carried out within the framework of data processing under data protection law.

4. Server log files

For the technical provision and security of the website, technical information generated when the website is accessed may be stored in server log files.

The log data is not used to create personal usage profiles or for advertising purposes.

It is stored only for as long as necessary for secure server operation, technical error analysis or the prevention of abusive access, unless statutory reasons require longer retention.

5. Encrypted data transmission

This website uses an encrypted HTTPS connection.

As a result, data transmitted between your browser and our server is protected during transmission against unauthorised access.

6. Contact form

When you use our contact form, we process the data you enter to handle your enquiry.

In particular, the following information is processed:

  • Salutation,
  • First name,
  • Last name,
  • Company or institution,
  • Town or city,
  • Telephone number,
  • Email address,
  • Subject,
  • Content of your message.

The information marked as mandatory fields is required so that we can clearly assign and respond to your enquiry.

Use of the contact form is voluntary. However, without providing the required mandatory fields, the enquiry cannot be submitted via the form.

Where your enquiry serves to initiate or perform a contractual relationship, processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, insofar as this legal basis applies to the data subject.

For other business enquiries, particularly where you contact us as a representative of a company or institution, processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Our legitimate interest lies in handling business enquiries and communicating with existing and potential clients.

7. Security features of the contact form

To protect the contact form against abusive or automated submissions, we use our own technical security measures.

These include in particular:

  • a simple arithmetic question,
  • an invisible honeypot field,
  • technical protection against manipulated form submissions (CSRF protection),
  • a temporary server-side session.

No external CAPTCHA service is used for these security measures.

In particular, no form data is therefore transmitted to Google reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha or comparable external CAPTCHA providers.

8. Technically necessary session identifier

A technically necessary session identifier is used for the security features of the contact form.

It enables, in particular, the temporary data required for the security question and protection of the form to be assigned to a session.

The session identifier is not used for analytics, tracking or advertising purposes.

Its use is technically necessary for the function of the contact form expressly requested by the visitor.

9. Contact by email or telephone

If you contact us by email or telephone, we process the personal data transmitted in this way to handle your request.

For enquiries relating to the initiation or performance of a contract, processing is based, where applicable, on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

For other business enquiries, processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

10. Retention period for enquiries and business communications

Data from contact enquiries is generally stored only for as long as necessary to handle the particular request.

If the enquiry results in a contractual relationship or the correspondence is relevant to a business transaction, the data may be stored for longer in accordance with the applicable statutory retention obligations.

Longer storage may also take place insofar as this is necessary to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

11. Locally stored fonts

The fonts used on this website are stored on our own web server and delivered from there.

When the fonts are loaded, no connection is established to Google Fonts or any other external font provider.

12. Analytics, tracking and advertising services

No external analytics or advertising tracking services are currently used on this website.

In particular, we currently use neither Google Analytics, Meta Pixel nor comparable tracking services.

No personal usage profiles are created for advertising purposes.

13. External content and services

Based on the current technical setup, this website does not integrate externally hosted fonts, external analytics programmes or external CAPTCHA services.

If further external services are used in the future, this Privacy Policy will be supplemented accordingly before they are introduced.

14. Recipients of personal data

Personal data is disclosed only if this is necessary for operating our technical infrastructure, processing your enquiry, performing a contractual relationship or complying with a legal obligation.

Technical recipients or processors may include, in particular, our hosting provider STRATO.

Your contact details are not disclosed to third parties for their own advertising purposes.

15. Transfer of data to third countries

We currently do not use any of our own external services on this website through which we deliberately transfer personal data to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.
